Port Blair, July 21: In a significant move towards realizing the vision of Digital India Mission and to shift towards a 100% cashless bill payment system, the Electricity Department, A&N Administration shall discontinue collection of energy bill payments at the Site Offices and Common Service Centres (CSC) for the consumers of entire South Andaman District in the first phase w.e.f. 01.08.2024.

Port Blair, July 20: Online applications have been invited for admission to class VI for the session 2025-26 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Panchawati, District North & Middle Andaman through the selection test. The registration portal has already been made available. Interested candidates may apply online by visiting NVS website https://navodaya.gov.in.  The registration portal will be closed on 16.09.2024. Port Blair, July 19: The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the hearing dated 16.07.2024 has directed all the States/UTs to complete 100% e-KYC of all the Ration Card beneficiaries immediately. Hence, all the left out NFSA (AAY & PHH) beneficiaries who have not yet done their e-KYC have been requested to approach the nearest Fair Price Shop of their area or respective Supply Office immediately and get their e-KYC done latest by 31.07.2024, failing which, the names of all such left out beneficiaries will be deleted without any further notice considering it as bogus units.

Port Blair, July 20: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep will sail from Port Blair to Vizag on July 22 at 1000 hrs. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on July 21. The excess baggage/cargo are required to be booked in advance at Commercial Wing, DSS. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0800 hrs on July 22. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time.

Governor discussed operationalization of ongoing and proposed mega infra development and Tourism projects of A&N Islands being steered through Islands Development Agency by Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
