Port Blair, March 3: The entrance tests of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) towards admission into the MBA (Openmat), B.Ed, and Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing) programme, batch commencing January 2021 is scheduled for conduct on Sunday, 11th April, 2021. The registration for the entrance test will be on-line. 

Port Blair, March 3: Due to sudden breakdown of vehicle ferry vessel MV Austin–IV providing ferry service between Uttara and Gandhi Ghat has been withdrawn from service for rectification of its defects. Presently only one vehicle Ferry vessel MV Austin–III is providing service at Kadamtala. All efforts are being made by this Directorate to rectify the defects and restore normalcy. The commuters are requested to plan their journey suitably.

Inconvenience caused in this regard is regretted.

Port Blair, March 2: The District Child Protection Unit (SA) under District Administration conducted a workshop on Colour Therapy at Bethany Children Home.

The aim of this workshop was to impart knowledge about colour association like every colour has its own effect and symbolization and children are more sensitive to the colours and they can easily express their suppress feelings and emotions through colour therapy.

Jitendra Narayan IAS to Hold Charge of Chief Secretary till Further Orders

Port Blair, March 02: The Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs with the approval of competent authority issued the transfer order of Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Chetan B. Sanghi from Andaman & Nicobar Islands to Delhi with immediate effect.

Shri Jitendra Narayan, IAS will hold the charge of Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Islands till further orders.

On relinquishing charge after two years and six months as Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration and proceeding for his next assignment Sanghi paid a farewell call on to Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lt Governor, A&N Islands today. The LG appreciated his many significant contributions during the tenure.

Port Blair, March 2: The District Child Protection Unit, South Andaman conducted awareness session on Adoption and Child Protection at Jubilee Sadan, Diocese of Port Blair, Lamba Line

The Protection Officer (Non Institutional Care) informed the gathering in detail about Adoption through a Power Point Presentation that all adoptions should be registered on ‘Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System’ of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA).
