Mayabunder, May 13: N&MA district police is going hard on bootleggers and supply chain of illicit liquor. With the ANIIDCO wine shops closed, it was expected that some people would try to take advantage of the situation. Hence, close watch is being kept on the known bootleggers and history sheeters. Raids are being conducted on any information regarding illegal sale or possession of illicit liquor.

Port Blair, May 13: On 12th May 2021 the members of WITH YOU (NGO) under the guidance of its President Ms V. K Mariyam Bibi collected 250Kg –Dal, 250 kg – Salt, 100 Lt –Oil and 200 pkt - Sanitary pads,
The essentials collected were handed over to Shri Hari kalikkat, IAS, SDM South Andaman in presence of other officials of District Administration.
These donated items will be packed and distributed by the Administration to the needy people who are not able to earn during this pandemic crisis.

Hindu Rashtra Shakti has expressed shock and grief at the demise of Shri Vijay Kumar (B/o Kumar Sanjay, R/o South Point) Store keeper, Transport Deptt. who breathed his last on 12/05/2021 at 1040 pm GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. HRS has also condoled the demise of Shri Sunil Ch Pal, R/o Chouldari who breathed his last on 12/05/2021 at PHC Chouldari.

Positive Cases Within the Islands Outnumbers Incoming Passengers
Port Blair, May 12: The Secretary, IP&T, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh while addressing a COVID-19 media briefing in the conference hall of IP&T today, informed that the second dose of vaccination programme for the eligible persons above 45 years of age will commence from tomorrow (May 13). The vaccination will be done in all the 30 vaccination centres and all the 85 teams which were constituted earlier will be deputed for vaccination purpose, he said adding that for 18+ the vaccine has not yet arrived and it will be intimated as soon as the vaccine reaches here.
