Port Blair, April 8: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which sailed from Chennai is expected to arrive at Port Blair on 10.04.2024 at 0600 hrs. She has on board, 358 passengers & 1 Infant, 17 containers and 226 MT cargo. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Port Blair, April 8: The Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair will telecast a live phone-in programme on the topic –‘Strict Implementation of Model Code of Conduct’ tomorrow (April 9) from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm. The Assistant State Police Nodal Officer, Shri Manjeet Sheoran, IPS and Nodal Officer (MCC), Shri Prashant Kumar will be the expert in the studio, answering to the queries of the viewers. Port Blair, April 8: The passengers/general public have been informed that due to administrative reasons, the existing daily service from Port Blair to Rangat via Swaraj Dweep & Long Island and vice-versa has been revised. Now, the services will be available on every Monday, Tuesday & Friday with effect from 10.04.2024.

Commissioning of EVMs & VVPATs Completed
Port Blair, April 7: The Chief Electoral Officer, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS along with Returning Officer, ANIPC, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, today visited EVM & VVPATs warehouse situated near ITF Ground to review the ongoing work of Commissioning of EVMs & VVPATs to be used for the polling on 19th April, 2024 (Poll day). The Commissioning of the EVMs & VVPATs is completed and the mock poll on randomly selected EVMs are being carried out in the Central Warehouse behind ITF Ground in the presence of representatives of contesting candidate and the whole process is videographed.
