As the country celebrates the 72nd Republic Day with zeal, fervor and joy, I extends my best wishes to everyone on this occasion which marks the coming into force of the Constitution of India. Our Constitution is the binding force which is the foundation of the diversity of our country and provides its citizens with fundamental rights and duties.
It marks the day when India got truly independent and attained the historic Purna Swaraj. We became a sovereign, secular, socialist, democratic republic country on 26 January 1950, almost three years post-independence.
