Kuldeep Calls Upon Chief Secretary to Request GOI for Doses of DRDO’s 2-DG Drug for Andaman Patients

Port Blair, May 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has called upon the Chief Secretary to request Govt. of India to supply few doses of DRDO’s 2-DG drug for the Covid patients of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It is a matter of great pride that India’s premier R&D organization, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed a wonder drug 2-DG, which reportedly works wonderfully well in reducing the Oxygen Dependency in COVID-19 patients, the MP said.

Secretary IP&T Calls Upon People to Support the A&N Administration in the Fight to Contain the Pandemic
Port Blair, May 19: The A&N Administration, doctors and all other stakeholders are putting their best efforts to contain the spread of the virus. General public should also understand their responsibility and co-operate with the Administration so as to bring down the number of active cases in our Islands, said the Secretary IP&T Shri Sunil Kumar Singh while addressing the media today. He appealed to the general public again to minimize their movement, stay at home, don’t move around, don’t endanger your life, your family members lives and the lives of others.

Port Blair, May 19: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed gratitude towards the Central Govt., Chief Secretary and the whole team of Andaman & Nicobar Administration for starting the vaccination for 18+ age group in the Islands from today.
Bairagi has expressed happiness on the news that the Central Govt. has allotted 10000+ doses for the 18+ vaccination in the Islands apart from the 9070 doses, which have already reached the Islands and are being utilized for vaccinating the younger age group.

Port Blair, May 19: The recent weather forecast indicates formation of low pressure area over east central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman sea around 23rd May 2021 and the system is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm. Under its influence, squally weather with high wind speed and rough sea conditions are likely to remain over Andaman Sea from 21-26 May 21.

Port Blair, May 19: Under the guidance of Smti Sheela Singh, Vice President BJP, Shri Gaurav Gogia, General Secretary BJYM the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha provided immunity booster to around 160 families at ALHW Colony. The immunity boosters were handed over to Shri B.K. Sharma to further distribute to the beneficiaries.
