The festival of colours is celebrated throughout India with much fanfare. People wait for holi and prepare to celebrate the festival for months.

Port Blair, March 28: Indian Coast Guard conducted Community Interaction Programme at Dignabad Govt. School Hall on 26 Mar 21 with local fishermen and their families and representatives from fisheries department. During the CIP, 50-55 fishermen alongwith their families were present. During the course of conduct Asst Comdt Atul Kumar Verma and Rakesh Kumar, Adhikari addressed the gathering about Search and Rescue set up in India, especially in Port Blair and explained various precautionary measures to be followed while venturing out for fishing. The fishermen-were enlightened on effective usage of SAR toll free number 1554. Theoretical briefing was followed by practical demonstration of Safety Equipment. The fishermen were also exhorted to carry life saving gears such as life jackets etc.

Port Blair, March 28: A condolence meeting was held at Chinmaya Mission Port Blair to pay homage to late Shri K.L Mahajan a noted social worker of these Islands. Shri Mahajan passed away at Kolkata on Saturday. The speakers highlighted the contribution of late Mahajan in various social fields. The meeting was attended by swami Shuddhananda Saraswati, resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission, Shri Bishnu Pad Ray Ex MP, Shri Surendra Prahladka, President Chinmaya Mission, Shri H. N, Arora, Smt. Komal Anand, President Inner-Wheel Club, Shekh Farooq Alam and others.

Indian Coast Guard Evacuates 3 Patients From Afra Bay in Two Separate Operations
Port Blair, March 26: Continuing with its endeavor to protect life at sea and fulfill its charter of duties Indian Coast Guard yet again carried out two medical evacuations on 23rd and 25th Mar 2021 from Afra Bay.
At about 1230 Hrs on 23rd Mar 2021, Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 10 received a message from AC Office Campbell Bay for medical evacuation of a patient namely Patrick, who was suffering from stomach pain, cough and continuous vomiting from last 15 hours. The Administration expressed its inability to depute local vessel due to technical issue. Considering the situation, ICGS C-150 was deployed on a very short notice for evacuation of diseased from Afra Bay. The patient was taken onboard after Rapid Antigen Test and was brought to PHC, Campbell Bay for further medical management. The patient was attended by Coast Guard Medical staff during the passage onboard Coast Guard Ship. The condition of the patient was reported to be stable.
