Port Blair, June 2: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,81,634 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,538 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 12,688 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 25235. 

Village Lad from Middle Andaman Sets World Record for Highest Number of Pull-ups in 30 Sec

Port Blair, May 31: Andaman has time and again proved that there is no dearth of talents out here. Whether it art, culture, sports or any other field, the Islanders of Andaman & Nicobar Islands have outshined. One such talent is a village lad; Uday Shankar Das who has set a world record for the highest number of pull-ups in 30 seconds. The earlier world record was 28 pull-ups in 30 seconds, to which Uday decided to challenge and achieved 38 pull-ups in 30 seconds, thus setting up a new world record.

Port Blair, May 31: The Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has extended his highest appreciation and gratitude to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for considering to construct another guest house at Chennai, which is the need of the hour since many Islanders go to Chennai for various purposes like treatment, study, social obligations etc.

Prime Minister Modi Holds Interaction with Beneficiaries of Welfare Schemes/Programmes

Port Blair, May 31: The Nation is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence.  As a part of this momentous occasion, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji interacted with the beneficiaries of about 15 schemes/Progammes spanning over nine Ministries/Departments of the Government of India. The number of beneficiaries of many of the schemes runs in crores and in several cases in tens of crores. 

Port Blair, May 31: The State President of National Students’ Union of India A&N Islands, Mr. M.A Sajid has raised the demand for establishing Narcotics Control Bureau in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In his letter to the Lt. Governor, he highlighted the present Scenario of the budding youths and student’s community who are falling into the habit of harmful drugs and other similar kinds of intoxicants. He requested the Lt. Governor to establish NCB in these Island to have a strict check on drug peddling.
