Port Blair, June 6: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 212 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 14 flights with 2183 passengers arrived, out of which, 1904 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 220 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

The State President, Hindu Rashtra Shakti, Andaman Unit, Mr Rakeshwar Lall has expressed deep anguish on the sudden demise of Mrs PL. Thiruvandal 65, M/o P.L. Annadurai and W/o Shri S.A. Palaniappan who expired at home town Sevaloor, Pudukkottai District Tamil Nadu. HRS prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.

Port Blair, June 5: The Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, GoI, General (Dr.) VK Singh (Retd.), has described A&N Islands as a place where people from different parts of the country live in perfect peace and harmony. Addressing the gathering in the ‘Labharathi Sammelan’, organized to commemorate the completion of 8 years of Modi Government, by the A&N Bharatiya Janata Party in the Community Hall, Chouldari today, the Minister, who arrived here today on a three-day visit, stated that the Central Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has brought many social welfare schemes for uplifting the living conditions of the poor people. Mentioning some of the schemes viz. PM Ujjawala Yojana, Mudra Yojana, PM KISSAN, PM Awas Yojana, the Minister said these schemes have brought great relief to poor people. The aim of devising these social welfare schemes is to provide relief to the last mile beneficiaries, he said. 

Port Blair, June 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has highlighted the problems being faced by the general public and passengers at Shaheed Dweep Jetty.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the jetty of Shaheed Dweep is one of the longest Jetties of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, which also records very high footfalls on a daily basis by local residents and visiting tourists.
