Port Blair, April 7: In continuation of the intensive drive, the Police teams of South Andaman District Police are continuously making all possible efforts to curb down the menace of illegal sale of illicit liquor, contraband drugs and violation of Model Code of Conduct in their concerned jurisdictions.

Car Nicobar, April 7: Various activities were organized by the Nicobar District Police as part of the Systematic Voter’s Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP), the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India on April 6.

Port Blair, April 5: In view of the forthcoming General Elections-2024, a concerted effort is underway to ensure widespread awareness among the general public. In this endeavor, the South Andaman District Police has placed hoardings and Selfie Points at Flag Point, Marina Park, Cellular Jail and Corbyn’s Cove. The aim of these hoardings and Selfie Points is to engage and educate citizens about the importance of participating in the democratic process and casting their votes.

Urges Police & Defence Forces to be on High Alert for the Smooth Conduct of Election in ANIPC

Port Blair, April 5: A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Electoral Officer, Shri B.S. Jaglan, IAS, in the Mini Conference Hall of the Secretariat here today to review the Law & Order situation in view of the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2024. Chairing the meeting, the CEO urged the Police Force to be on high alert in maintaining Law and Order situation for the smooth conduct of Election in Andaman &Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency. The CEO further urged to check the MCC violation as per the guidelines issued by the ECI, especially the movement of cash, drugs and liquor to lure the voters and directed for its immediate seizure without any hesitation. He also urged for minimal harassment to public during checking being carried out by the Police teams and people carrying legal cash should not be harassed.

Car Nicobar, April 5: On 04/04/2024, a significant excise raid was conducted by police team of PS Car Nicobar in Perka Village, Loop Road. As a preparatory step in view of forthcoming General Election, this raid was planned based on inputs developed by local police. During raid around 600 Ltrs. of Lahan, a key component in the production of illicit liquor was destroyed under photographic coverage.
