Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea along and off Andaman and Nicobar Islands till July 18. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee recently met the new Chief Engineer of APWD and brought to his notice the deplorable condition urban and rural roads in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He urged the Chief Engineer to frame some concrete proposals for re-laying of all the urban and rural roads by utilizing the latest technology with the technical assistance of Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi.  

Nancowrie, July 9: The Chief Secretary, A&N Islands, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, today virtually inaugurated the e-Corner at Nancowrie Tehsil, marking a signification milestone in the implementation of online services in the remote Island. Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Nicobars was also present virtually. Shri Ravindra Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowrie and Smti Aysha Majeed, Chairman Tribal Council, Kamorta, and many other line Departments Head of Office were also present on the occasion.

Pondicherry, July 9: The 5th South Zone Pencak Silat (martial arts) championship was held at Pondicherry 6th and 7th of July 2024 in which the Andaman & Nicobar Island team Coach cum Trainer, Senior Player Logarjun M added pride to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands by securing a gold medal. He is the first gold medalist from Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the senior category of Pencak Silat Martial Arts (in fight).
