Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the sad demise of Smt. Kavita Ghosh, Retired Senior Manager, ANIIIDCO Ltd. aged 60 yrs, D/o Smt. Shanta Lachman Singh, Senior Congress Leader who passed away in the early morning hours today. He prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Port Blair, July 3: In continuation to the earlier vacancy notice published by the Transport Department in the online portal www.erecruitment.andaman.gov.in on 03/05/2023, inviting applications from the eligible candidates to fill up the vacant Group 'B' (NG) & Group 'C' posts of Transport Department, it is informed to the candidates that the common recruitment paper based Offline Examination will be held on 16.07.2023. The question will be set in bilingually English and Hindi.

Port Blair, July 2: CPI (M) has urged the Government of India to create a separate State Civil Services for Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the pattern of Puducherry and Goa State Civil Services. In the Memorandum submitted to the Home Secretary, Government of India during his recent visit to Delhi, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee stated that at present, the officers belonging to Delhi & Andaman & Nicobar Civil Services (DANICS), selected through Civil Services Examination of UPSC, are posted to Andaman and Nicobar Islands by the Ministry of Home Affairs. These officers in turn are posted to various departments/ Secretariat by the Lt Governor. Almost all such DANICS Officers belong to outside Andaman and Nicobar Islands as none of the local candidates get selected through the toughest competitive examination of UPSC.

Port Blair, July 3: The provisional merit list of candidates who had applied for admission to Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) viz. B.Sc.B.Ed. Mathematics and Computer Science, B.A.B.Ed. English, Hindi and History for the Academic Session 2023-24 in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair has been published today and is available in the Common College Admission Portal at http://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in.

Port Blair, July 2: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to review the allotment of vacant Government Quarters and construct new triple-story government quarters in the place of old/unoccupied government quarters so that more and more government servants in need of government accommodation can get quarters allotted in their names.
