Common Service Centres to be Made Available through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies

Port Blair, March 23: For the first time in the history of A&N Islands, the functioning of Common Service Centres (CSCs) - a citizen centric initiative towards ease of doing business has now been made available through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). This initiative of A&N Administration will further aid in providing Govt. related services at the doorsteps of the citizens. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, launched this service through PACS at a function held in the Community Hall of Gram Panchayat, Wimberlygunj here this morning. The Chief Secretary inaugurated the CSC of Bapuji Service Co-operative Society Ltd. Wimberlygunj by cutting the ribbon and 11 other CSCs covering South as well as North & Middle Andaman Districts through video conference in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Ms Veditha Reddy, IAS and Secretary (Co-operation), Shri Raajesh Goyal, PRIs and residents of the area. The Chairman/Members of the respective PACs also joined the inaugural ceremony through virtual mode.

Port Blair, March 23: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested to include short term certificate courses like Personal jetski water craft, power boat handler, snorkelling, parasailing and other water sports activities under PMKVY.

The Member of Parliament has requested the Chief Secretary to add these short-term certificate courses especially for Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He stressed on inclusion of courses related to water sports such as Personal Jetski Water Craft, Power Boat Handler, and Snorkelling.

Port Blair, March 23: In a joint effort by Forest Training school, Wimberly Gunj and Nayi Manzil, NGO, a programme on topic people biodiversity register was conducted at the auditorium of forest training school, Wimberly Gunj. The flagship programme on the above theme is being spearheaded in every part of the country to promote the understanding of natural resources.

Port Blair, March 23: Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Secretary RD/ Deputy Commissioner (SA) accompanied with ADM (SA), SDM (SA), Director (RD), BDO Ferrargunj, Tehsildar Ferrargunj, Zilla Parishad Member, Pradhans of Gram Panchayat Hopetown/Bambooflat-I/Bambooflat-II & Shore Point and PRI members. She took stock of various development works which are being executed on the field.

Port Blair, March 23: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. G Bhasker has notably highlighted the dilapidated condition of Andaman Bhawan at Vishakhapatnam and issues being faced by Islanders there who visit Andhra Pradesh for several reasons like medical treatment, higher education, participating in sports events etc.

In a letter addressed to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Mr. Bhasker pointed out that the 50 bedded dormitory room and toilets at Andaman Bhawan, Vishakhapatnam is in a very unhygienic state. Consequently everywhere, a stinking smell, uncleanliness and negligence prevails.
