Port Blair, July 19: The Indian National Congress has been advocating secularism and it is the party's strong belief that overall development of the country is possible only with joint effort of people from every religion, caste and cadre. Sticking to the mandate of his party, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament visited various temples, Mosques and Churches in and around South Andaman. During his visit, the parliamentarian interacted with priests of Temples, Mosques and Churches and enquired about their well-being. He assured functionaries of all possible help for the betterment and welfare of religious institutions.

Port Blair, July 19: The District Administration in its continuous efforts to provide relief and assistance to the people during the pandemic has taken various pro-active steps to ensure that people feel secure and safe. In this connection the District Administration distributed ration kits at the Rajeev Gandhi Waters Sports Complex.

Port Blair, July 19: An Oxygen generation facility was inaugurated by Lieutenant General  Ajai Singh, AVSM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) on 19 Jul 21 in presence of Shri Dr. V Chandavelou, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Dr. Omkar Singh, Director (Health), Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Mr. Anjan Halder, Project Head, M/s ITD Cementation India Limited and Senior Officers of ANC. Considering the severity of the COVID-19 second wave and the subsequent exponential surge in demand for medical grade oxygen, HQ ANC had initiated various measures to augment the medical and support facilities at Andaman and Nicobar Islands.  

Diglipur, July 19: Shri Sunil Chander Das who runs a grocery shop at R K Gram near Civil Supply Godown, came to police station at around 6:20 AM on 18/07/2021, stating that he had kept some gold ornaments and cash in the drawer of his shop but when he came to the shop in the morning, he saw that the lock of the shop is broken and the gold jewellery and cash missing from his cash drawer.

Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 16 July 2021 along with a delegation met the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration Shri. Jitendra Narain and highlighted the issues of part time employees/workers numbering around 750. The employees include Pre Primary Teachers, Craft Instructors, Pre Primary Ayah/ Safai Karmachari and Attendants posted at various schools of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
