Port Blair, April 18: Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded uninterrupted power supply at Port Blair and South Andaman rural areas. In a letter sent to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A&N State Organising Committee drew the attention of the Lt. Governor towards the widespread power disruption occurring in the Port Blair and South Andaman areas for the last several months. He said that Port Blair town and adjoining areas have been undergoing the unscheduled and un-announced power cut, because of which studies of students whose Board Examinations are underway during these days are adversely affected.

Port Blair, April 18: The National Students Union of India's State General Secretary, Saurav Nair on Friday demanded to confer the prestigious Padma Bhushan award posthumously to Ex-Member of Parliament, A&N Islands Late. Manoranjan Bhakta on the occasion of his death anniversary on 12th June 2022.

Port Blair, April 18: Former State President, BJP, A&N Islands, Shri. Vishal Jolly has demanded to restore all convoys in Andaman Trunk operating between Jirkatang to Middle Strait and from Middle Strait to Jirkatang. The same has been curtailed and restricted to a limited movement due to the COVID pandemic since March 2020. Now the Govt. of India including UT Administration have been revoked Disaster Management Act, which was enforced to impose restriction and containment of COVID-19 in the country.
