District Administration Decides to Commence RAT on Incoming Passengers

Port Blair, April 5: The Deputy Commissioner (SA) Shri Suneel Anchipaka convened a meeting in view of the sudden surge in the COVID -19 positive cases in South Andaman in the past few days with the representatives of Health Services, Airline Operators and Special Secretary (IT) to discuss various measures to be undertaken to contain the further spread of the virus.

Port Blair, April 5: Keeping in view the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the UTs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands which has been a cause of great concern and also with a view to consolidate the substantial gains achieved against the spread of COVID-19, Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) reviewed the COVID-19 vaccination process in South Andaman District.

Port Blair, April 5: Skill Development is a key to improve employability and income earning opportunities for women and for enhancing sustainable rural development and livelihood. This was said by Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands while inaugurating a three month duration Skill Development Training on ‘Tailoring and Fashion Designing’ organized by him at Sundar Colony, Haddo on 3rd April 2021. He said Skill is the bridge between job and workforce but majority of our female workforce is unskilled. Further, the Member of Parliament said, women economic participation and empowerment are fundamental to strengthening women’s rights and enabling them to have control over their lives.

Port Blair, April 5: In view of the sudden surge in the cases of COVID positive cases, the District Administration have once again activated all the mechanism in place to monitor and contain the further spread of the virus. As part of the same, the District Administration has set up a dedicated control room in the District Office for monitoring/surveillance of vulnerable persons.

Port Blair, April 5: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association expressed gratitude towards the pro-active steps taken by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration on resolving some of the burning issues of Govt. employees. In a letter to Chief Secretary, the General Secretary of the Association, Shri T.S.Sreekumar appreciated the initiatives taken by his office in settling the issues which were kept pending for a long period.
