Tap Water Connections Provided in North Andaman
Port Blair, March 31: The Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs has made it conceivable by providing tap water connection in the remote areas of North and Middle Andamans.
Considering the difficulties of in-adequate water supplies as well as acute water shortage that exist in North Andaman, Jal Jeevan Mission helps Smti. Parboti Bairagi, a resident under Gram Panchayat Pashimsagar, Diglipur, get an individual tap water connection at her house.

Port Blair, March 31: The District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) under District Administration, South Andaman and State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) under the Directorate of Social Welfare in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services organized an Enrolment-cum-Awareness campaign at the Community Hall, Wandoor .

Port Blair, March 30: In view of detection of a number of COVID-19 positive cases in Chakkargaon area in Port Blair Tehsil, a part of Chakkargaon has been declared as Containment zone, as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time.

Kuldeep Briefs Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya
Port Blair, March 30: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament had a meeting with the Hon'ble Minister of State for Shipping (Independent Charge) Shri Mansukh L. Mandaviya at Raj Niwas on 29.03.2021 who was on three days official tour to Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Referring to shipping as lifeline for these Islands, the MP emphasized that the geographical and locational advantage of the archipelago of the A&N Islands can certainly play major role in making these Islands socio economically self-sustainable if need based projects capable of generating employment are taken up by Central Government.

Port Blair, March 30: With the active citizen participation & the efforts of Port Blair Municipal Council, Port Blair city has bagged of ODF++ from MoHUA, GoI.
A Third-Party Inspection (TPI) was conducted by MoHUA after PBMC filed an application for the declaration Open Defecation Free (ODF) ++ status for the city. The declaration of Port Blair as ODF ++ was received through an official communication by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) recently.
