Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 24: Swell waves in the range of 17.0 - 21.0 sec period with 1.5 - 1.6 m height have been forecasted till 2330 hours of Sept.25, 2024 for the coast of A&N Islands. Surging of waves near shore is possible, hence, small vessels have been advised not to ply and no activities should be conducted at the beach/ near shore waters as near shore erosion is possible. No exit/entry of small boats at coastline.

Swaraj Dweep, Sept. 12: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A & N Islands along with Shri Sanjay Balan, Retd. Official, A & N Administration, yesterday visited Swaraj Dweep following numerous complaints regarding removal of old encroachments without following due process of law.
Further the local residents also alleged of excesses being committed on the entrepreneurs / businessmen/ traders of the islands and also upon the farmers by local officials.
