Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 19: The South Andaman District Administration organized a Special Revenue Camp Court at Bathubasti, Sri Vijaya Puram. The camp was held to expedite the disposal of Mutation Cases, providing local residents with timely resolutions to land-related matters.
During the camp, a total of 12 Mutation Cases were successfully resolved. These cases were ordered by the Tehsildar, Sri Vijaya Puram, underscoring the administration’s dedication to improving land management and catering to the needs of the local community.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 18: The two-day State-Level Re-orientation Training Programme for AYUSH Paramedics, including Homoeo Pharmacists and Nursing Officers, organized by AYUSH Wing of DHS and A & N State AYUSH Society (NAM) concluded yesterday in the Conference Hall of AYUSH Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram. The programme focusing on ‘Essentials of Homoeopathy, Homoeopathy Pharmacy, and Basic Life Support’, saw active participation of 20 trainees who gained insights into the fundamental principles of Homoeopathy, Non-Communicable Disease, NCDs and its Homoeopathic remedies and potentization, posology and common ailments and its Homoeopathic treatment and basic life support. Copies of the specially designed handbook on ‘General Wellness & Prevention of Common Ailments through Homoeopathy’ for Paramedics were also provided to the trainees.

Poisonous Clouds of Smoke Causes Threat to Institutions and Residential Areas Around
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 17: It was only couple of years ago that the City’s Municipal Council had claimed that it was able to contain the poisonous smoke that was emitted 24x7 for years together from its Brookshabad Dumping Site. The round the year emission of poisonous smoke created by burning of unsegregated waste, had become a dangerous threat to the surroundings. It was only after due deliberations with experts that the Municipal Council could understand how to contain the pollution. The solution was simple; it was to segregate the waste from the house hold level, which had made the Council make tall claims about its achievement.

Campbell Bay, Jan. 18: The 12th Annual Athletic Meet of Government Senior Secondary School Vijay Nagar, Campbell Bay, was held in the school playground yesterday. Shri E S Rajesh, Pramukh, Campbell Bay was the chief guest on the occasion while Shri Satnam Singh, HM (P) (Retd.) was the special guest. The event was attended by officials from various schools, parents, teachers and students. March past was presented by students which was followed by inauguration of the meet by the chief guest.

Swaraj Dweep, Jan 17: In a significant effort to promote sustainable tourism practices, the District Administration, South Andaman conducted a workshop on the Swachhata Green Leaf Rating System on January 16, 2025, at Dolphin Resort. The session was organized in collaboration with the Hoteliers Association from both Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep.
The primary goal of the workshop was to educate hoteliers on the Green Leaf Rating System and its crucial role in promoting environmental sustainability within the hospitality sector. The Green Leaf Rating System is an important tool that helps evaluate the eco-friendly initiatives and resource management practices adopted by hotels and resorts.
