Port Blair, Sept. 24: Former State President, BJP, A & N islands, Shri Vishal Jolly has written a letter to Chief Secretary, A & N Administration requesting to consider age limit for the post of Pharmacist under DHS as per the recruitment notice of 2018 population.

In his letter Jolly mentioned that the Administration is filling up much awaited 28 vacant post of Pharmacist under the Directorate of Health Services at-least on contractual basis. The last regular appointment was done in the year 2009 and since then no vacancy was filled. In the year 2018, Administration called for the E –recruitment notice vide No. 5-88/Rect. DHS/2018-19/3525 dated 28th Sept, 2018 for 25 posts of Pharmacist. It is understood that these posts will be filled soon as well.

Port Blair, Sept. 24: In a small event organized, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi (PBGKR) along with Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (Ttrakshika) distributed Health and Ration kits to 25 Single Mothers.

Mrs Savita Raja Putran, President Tatrakshika along with Mrs. Gayatri Manish Kumar, Outreach Coordinator, Tatrakshika took an initiative to help single mother of the islands and had contacted Shri Mandeep Grewal, President, PBGKR.

Port Blair, Sept. 24: An earthquake of intensity MW:5.2 hit the Nicobar Islands today at 2034 hours. The location of the quake was recorded as Lat:8.55 N,  Log:93.97 E, Depth: 30 km (Ocean) Part, a communication from SEOC informed.

Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. Discussed enhancement of direct trade including import of timber, steel & construction materials like sand, aggregates/stone etc. and to give impetus to Tourism, Discussed Cruise liner circuits, Chartered & Hopping flights, with incentives already in place like Zero VAT on ATF & nil landing charges, exploring further scope of cooperation and connectivity with Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Port Blair, Sept. 24: INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) has been conducting national level competitions every year. In this regard, an essay and illustrations competition on ‘Nature in Danger’ was held last year. In spite of the pandemic, Kendriya Vidyalaya II had not only participated but also bagged the Regional Winner Award.

Neshitha of Class VIII was declared the Regional Winner from amongst nearly 15000 participants from across the country.
