Port Blair, Jan 20: The Indian Coast Guard is celebrating its 45th Raising Day on 01 Feb 2021. Indian Coast Guard as youngest Armed Force of India has taken giant strides towards ‘maritime safety and security’ and nation building. As the fourth largest Coast Guard in the world, Indian Coast Guard has played a significant role in securing the Indian coasts and enforcing the regulations within the Maritime Zone of India. Indian Coast Guard has been actively involved in security of Andaman & Nicobar Islands since its inception and is always ready to shoulder social obligations for betterment and development of local populace.

Port Blair, Jan 20: As part of on-going celebration of A & N Police Raising Week, the staff of PS Car Nicobar and SP District Office organized a painting competition on the theme ”Traffic Management” at GSSS Malacca. Around 50 students of Class IX to XII participated in the competition and the winners in both girls and boys category were awarded with trophies and certificates.

General public is hereby informed that an un-identified dead body in highly decomposed state of which upper portion of the body missing has been recovered at Ross & Smith Island on 12/01/2021 at 0530 hrs. There was a blue colour jeans knee pant size 30 inch on the body. In this regard a UDFIR 01/2021 dated 12/01/2021 u/s 174 Cr.PC has been chalked out at PS Diglipur. The body is presently kept in the mortuary of CHC, Diglipur for identification.

Port Blair, Jan 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Shipping), A&N Administration to resume the sailing programmes of ships for Visakhapatnam sector since there is a huge population of residents in A&N Islands from Andhrapradesh and Telengana State waiting to travel to their place of origin which owing to COVID-19 pandemic had been to be suspended.
