Port Blair, Dec. 7: In commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav and as a part of Eat Right India initiative of FSSAI, the Food Safety Department is organizing a walkathon event on 12th December 2021. The walkathon shall start from National Memorial Cellular Jail at 7:00 AM and culminate at Netaji Stadium covering vintage points viz. Clock Tower, Annapurna Hotel, BSNL Office, IP&T Junction, DC Bunglow, Fire Brigade (HQ), Vikas Bhawan.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The NTPC Ltd organized a state-level painting competition in collaboration with the Ministry of Power & Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the National Energy Conservation Campaign in order to create awareness about energy conservation among school children.

Port Blair, Dec 7: The Kala Kendra Society under the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration and Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India is jointly conducting Seven days “Theatre Workshop” from 10.12.2021 to 16.12.2021 at Andaman Club, Port Blair. Shri. Arup Kumar Roy MA in Drama from Rabindra Bharati University Kolkata, West Bengal shall be the Resource Person of the workshop.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: A total of 5,65,966 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 1,76,400 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 1890 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. 1555 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 90 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 305 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which 12 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44. 30 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District out of which 2 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44.
