Port Blair, Jan 17: Continuing with its activities to promote art and culture in the Islands, Kala Kendra under the Directorate of Art & Culture, A&N Administration is conducting a week long camp for professional artists. The camp commenced on 11th Jan 2021 at the historic Andaman Club in spite of all constraints due to the pandemic and will be concluding on Monday 18th Jan 2021.

Port Blair, Jan 17: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to consider waiving off of COVID-19 test charges of Rs.200/- for the commuters and residents from Diglipur arriving at Port Blair by Ferries/Vehicles. He said that exemption of COVID test charges has already been provided by A&N Administration to commuters and residents of Mayabunder and Rangat Tehsil arriving at Port Blair and including Diglipur would ensure relief to all of North and Middle Andaman.

Port Blair, Jan 17: As part of Police Raising Week from 16th to 23rd January, 2021, South Andaman District Police organized a motor cycle rally on 17/01/2021 at 1030 hrs. The rally started and culminated at Cellular Jail, Port Blair covering Marina Park, Flag Point & Clock Tower. A total of 30 motorcycle riders from police department participated in the rally. The rally was flagged off by Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

Port Blair, Jan 17: The Nicobar Police as part of weeklong celebrations, organised 2k/5k runs with the theme “Run For the Nation” at Carnic and Campbell Bay. The 2km run at Carnic was flagged off by the Secretary, Tribal Welfare, Finance and Planning Shri Sanjeev Mittal from Modern Sport Complex, Lapathy in the presence of DC/Nicobar Shri Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman and SP/Nicobar Shri Rajeev Kumar. Winners were felicitated with trophies/prizes and certificates.
