Port Blair, Jan 27: On the auspicious occasion of the 72nd Republic Day of India, the CAMPA_Dugong team of the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) took their dugong awareness program, a step ahead. This time neither the stakeholders were chosen, nor did the program happened in a close knit setup with limited participants, as the dugong researchers took it by the Sea! And which place would have been ideal, other than the Flag Point at Marina Park-Port Blair, where our tri-color proudly sways with the wind!

Port Blair, Jan 27: This year LOTE Award function was dedicated to the people and organization who have done exceptionally well during this on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
The program stated with two minutes of silence for those who lost their life during the COVID pandemic, followed by lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Hon'ble Member of Parliament A & N Islands. A welcome patriotic song was sung by renowned artists Mr.Avinash and Miss. Priya, the brother - sister duo. Shri.Vaibhav Singh, Coordinator and Media Incharge LOTE, welcomed the gathering. Shri.Abhay Kumar, President, LOTE , spoke about the purpose and achievements of the LOTE.

Port Blair, Jan 27: A Contingent of 144 troops of the 172 Infantry Battalion (TA) MADRAS participated in the Army Day and Republic Day Parade 2021. The Battalion is deployed at Andaman and Nicobar Islands, under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Command.

Port Blair, Jan 27: Andaman Avians Club completed the Asian Water Bird Census 5th time in a row since 2017 which is an international water bird census conducted by the Wetland International, Netherland. Before the census, sessions were conducted by the club focusing on the Wetland Bird Identification Techniques and documentation of the data required for the census.
