Port Blair, June 22: Shri Girish Arora, General Secretary, Laghu Udyog Bharati, A&N Islands, Managing Committee Member, Hotel & Restaurant Association of Eastern India (HRAEI), President, Hoteliers Association of A & N Islands (HAANI) and Past President, Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry has been nominated as member of the recently constituted National Traders’ Welfare Board by Department of Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade (internal trade and e-commerce section) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. An order in this regard was issued on 19th June 2023 by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This nomination has been made in pursuance of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade's Notification No. P-55015/2/2019-Internal Trade dated 26th July and 17th December 2019.

Car Nicobar, June 22: Congress leaders of Car Nicobar led by ANTCC President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker and Chairman, Adivasi Congress Mr. Sebastian Tirkey held a meeting with the Education Officer of Car Nicobar Island, Shri H. Nathanial and discussed on problems being faced by tribal community of the Island.

Car Nicobar, June 22: On the occasion of 9th International Day of Yoga 2023, Mass Yoga Demonstrations were held at Block level and district level venues wise on yesterday  in various venues at Nicobar District viz. Priyadharshini Hall, BJR Stadium, Govt Primary School, Kinyuka, Teetop Beach, Industrial Training Institute(ITI), Arong, & Edward Kuchat Park, Perka HQ, Community Health Centre Nancowry, PHC Teressa, PHC Katchal, PHC Campbell Bay and PHC Gandhi Nagar including all the Health & Wellness Centre at Nicobar District in Co-ordination with the all Departments of Nicobar District. A total of 1315 people participated in Yoga demonstrations in Nicobar District.

Port Blair, June 22: As part of the weeklong celebration of International Drug De-Addiction, a seminar was organized at PBMC auditorium, in which, Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, she stressed on the need for organizing such programme regularly at frequent intervals at Senior Secondary School, Colleges and Gram Panchayats. She urged to avail the opportunity of counseling and treatment facility provided by Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts (IRCA) South Andaman. She further reiterated that people who are suffering from substance abuse should come forward for their treatment at IRCA, like people going to hospitals for treatment of physical ailments.

Mayabunder, June 22: The Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder, O/o the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, Mayabunder yesterday held a meeting with the Common Service Centre (CSC) operators of Mayabunder sub-division to sensitize them in resolving the issues being faced by the citizens in the timely delivery of e-Services.
