Port Blair, March 8: The Non-Gazetted Government Officers’ Association, A & N Islands organized a function at Crusade House, Port Blair on 8th March, 2022 to celebrate the International Women’s Day. A seminar was organized on the topic “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” as a part of the programme.

Port Blair, Mar. 8:  During the RT-PCR test conducted on 176 passengers who arrived here yesterday, one positive case has been detected. During RAT conducted on 18 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Helipad,7 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 22 passengers, no positive case has been detected.  At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 24passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. RT-PCR test was conducted on 14 crew members of M.V. Strait Island, the reports of which are awaited.

Port Blair, March 7: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has appreciated the hard work, dedication and sincerity of the entire team of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Election Commission and the entire Police Department, because of which the Panchayat and Municipal Elections were conducted in a smooth, peaceful and impartial manner in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, Mar. 8: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,08,232 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly,23,216 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 8955.

International Women's day is celebrated globally on the 8th March to honour the achievements of women in various fields. The theme of this year is "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow".
