Hut Bay, Sept. 13: Hope Foundation today organised its 4th awareness programme on suicide prevention at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Hutbay. The initiative aimed to educate students and staff about mental health, the importance of emotional well-being, and how to seek help in times of crisis. The program featured expert talks like SDPO (Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep and Hutbay, Mr. Feroz Alam from Police Department who carried out a very important interactive session, and activities designed to encourage open discussions about mental health.

Port Blair, Sept. 13: Whereas, Kumari R Nivedha (16 years) and Kumari R. Suvedha (14 years) D/o Late K. Rajenderan and Late Taramani R/o Prothrapur, Port Blair, South Andaman were found to be Orphan before the Child Welfare Committee and are under consideration for LEGALLY FREE FOR ADOPTION.

Port Blair, Sept. 13: In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, A & N Islands has invited his attention over the shortcomings at CHC Rangat, Middle Andaman.
The Community Health Centre at Rangat requires immediate attention over important healthcare concerns in the interest of local residents, particularly women folks. Due to non-availability of permanent Gynecologist in the centre, the pregnant women are going through tremendous hardships in obtaining routine and regular check-ups. Despite presence of Ultra Sound machine and other facilities at CHC Rangat, the absence of Gynecologist forces women to travel to Port Blair for delivery or problems associated with pregnancy.

Port Blair, Sept. 13: Spices are the cash crops, cultivation of which could not only bring prosperity to the island farmers but would also complement the tourism industry here. Availability of quality planting material is the pre-requisite for establishing commercial scale plantations, but the nursery activities require skilled manpower. In order to develop skills among the island stakeholders, a three days training programme on ‘Scientific Nursery Techniques in Tropical Spices’ was conducted during September 9 to 11, 2024 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair under the CSS-MIDH (NHM) Project on Spices and Human Resources Development Cell of ICAR-CIARI.
