As we all know, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands had played an important role in the freedom movement of our country. The first batch of freedom fighters was brought to the Islands in 1858.

Port Blair, Aug. 13: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have achieved 100% COVID-19 vaccination coverage against target for the 12–14 years old beneficiaries, marking another milestone in the ongoing mega vaccination drive launched throughout the country under ‘Har Ghar Dastak’.

Port Blair, Aug 14: As part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrating 75 years of Independence, ships of Indian Navy, Coast Guard and DSS would be at anchorage on 15 Aug 22. The occasion would serve to showcase the maritime assets at their colourful best on the occasion of the 75th year of Independence. The event is being organised by Andaman and Nicobar Command in coordination with the civil administration and Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS). The ships would be visual from Flag Point, Port Blair as well as Marina Park for all Islanders.

Port Blair, Aug. 13: The Directorate of Tribal Welfare, A&N Administration has set up a Special Help Desk in the premises of its Directorate, Secretariat Complex to facilitate the ST candidate of these islands to fill online application for various vacancies notified by the A&N Administration. The last date for filing online application is 02.09.2022. Smt. Sudha Rashmi Nair, Computer Assistant (Mobile No. 9434264143) has been designated as Liaison Officer to facilitate the eligible ST candidates for filling up of the online application.
