Port Blair, Aug 25: The State President, BJP, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi has requested the Lt. Governor and Chief Secretary to provide adequate supply of diesel to Diglipur, North and Middle Andaman. Bairagi in his letter mentioned that at present only one tanker of diesel is supplied to Diglipur, North and Middle Andaman in a week, whereas the actual requirement of diesel in the region is four tankers a week during normal times.

Authorities Shift Responsibilities When it Comes to Rectifying Mistakes
Port Blair, Aug 24: The re-shuffle of officers in the A&N Administration has come as a great relief to the general public of A&N Islands. It has also come as a re-assurance that the Administration is trying to rectify the mistakes done in the part and is willing to serve the society better.
While the re-shuffling comes as an assurance, things seem not to be getting solved in the only referral hospital of A&N Islands, the GB Pant. Sources confirm that the corona positive patients are mixed up with the regular patients who are getting treated for other ailments.

Port Blair, Aug 25: Shri Ayyub Hassan of Chukchucha Village, Car Nicobar has been promoted to the rank of IFS (Indian Forest Services). He is the first tribal from these islands to be promoted to the rank of IFS. Upon his becoming the first tribal IFS, the Chairperson, Shri Rasheed Yusuf & the Managing Committee of Tribal Development Council has expressed their heartiest congratulations.

Complete Lockdown to be Observed on Saturday and Sunday
Electrical, Hardware, Motor Garages, Restaurant with Home Delivery, Carpenter/ Furniture Shops, Quarry & Crushing to be Allowed to Operate Among Others
Port Blair, Aug 24: The present lockdown ordered by the A&N Administration in South Andaman District will continue from the 25th of August 2020 to 31st August 2020, said an Order issued by Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate South Andaman today. The lockdown shall be applicable for all weekdays.
