Kuldeep Calls Upon Prime Minister Modi to Retain MV Atal and MV Ashoka with A&N Administration
Port Blair, March 5: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India not to transfer two new mainland bound 1200 passenger cum 1000 tonnes cargo ships namely MV Atal and MV Ashoka to India Navy, which are in final stage of construction at Cochin Shipyard Limited. The MP urged to retain the same under the operational control of A&N Administration for transportation of passengers and cargo between Islands and mainland sectors in the larger interest of the islanders for safe mode of journey on cheaper cost journey fare.

Port Blair, March 5: The Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, A&N Administration is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- Nation Rural Livelihood Mission” (DAY-NRLM) in the Islands since 2016. The Directorate has formed institutions of rural poor women such as Self Help Groups and Village Organizations (Primary Level Federations/PrLF) under the esteemed guidance and support of the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad. Time to time capacity building of the members of these institutions is being done with the support of the NIRDPR for their empowerment.
Moving a step ahead towards formation of higher level of federation of rural poor women under DAY-NRLM, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Rural Livelihood Mission (ANIRLM) under the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, A&N Administration has formed five Block Level Federations at Prothrapur, Ferrargunj, Rangat, Mayabunder and Diglipur under the guidance and support of a team of Resource Persons of NIRDPR, Hyderabad.

Port Blair, March 5: This is to inform to the passengers/general public that due to Administrative reasons the scheduled departure time of the vessel MV Coral Queen for Campbell Bay & Nancowry on 06.03.2021 at 0800 Hrs has been revised. Now, the vessel will sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on the same day at 2000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 1800 Hrs. onwards on 06.03.2021.
Inconvenience caused to the passengers is regretted.

Port Blair, March 6: The District Child Protection Unit (SA) under District Administration conducted a workshop on Career Counselling by Dr Mithesh Behari, Psychiatrist Health for you Multi Speciality Centre.
The District Child Protection Officer (SA) initiated the program with welcome speech and introduced Dr Mithesh Behari (Psychiatrist) to the children.
