Port Blair, Dec. 3: The Andaman & Nicobar UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights is functioning in these islands with mandate to safeguard Child Rights and to take up programmes for disseminating information on child rights and their protections.
The Commission had organized a Virtual Contest for the children in the online mode to observe “International Child Rights Day” in the month of November.

Port Blair, Dec. 2: In light of the Guidelines of Ministry of Home Affairs for surveillance, containment and caution with regard to COVID-19 and subsequent Order by A&N Administration for its implementation, the Directorate of Shipping Services has initially recommenced shipping services to Tourist destinations like Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep. The Administration now after due assessment of the prevailing situation has decided to open up shipping activity in the other Islands also, in a phased manner. The shipping services would be reviewed every fortnight and depending on the situation, the shipping services would be augmented suitably.

The latest in its endeavor is the introduction of High-Tech Speed Laser Gun on 27/10/2020 for detection of over speeding by the vehicles in the city as well as on NH-4.
