Port Blair, May 24: Today the Food Safety Department, A&N Administration carried out surprise inspections of Ice Cream manufacturing units at Port Blair.
Major ice cream manufacturing units of the city were inspected. The Food Safety Regulators checked the sanitary and hygienic conditions, good manufacturing and hygienic practices followed at the premises. They also inspected the labelling conditions and other relevant conditions as required under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, Rules and Regulations made there under.

Port Blair, May 24: The resident families of Hopetown whose houses were damaged by the landslide due to the heavy rainfall have been shifted to Primary School, Hopetown.
The families reached out for help to Shri Mandeep Grewal, President, PBGKR. Reacting to the request, PBGKR delivered 15 Ration kits at the Primary School at Hopetown on the same day.

Kavitha today visited the Community Halls and Parking place situated in ward no 7 in the municipal area. Shri. Keeping in view the power demand in the city and in order to manage the demand, I, Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate, South Andaman on behalf of the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Power) requests all the general public and high value customers i.e. Hoteliers and Commercial establishments to judiciously use the power during peak hours.
The hoteliers and owners of commercial establishments are advised to meet their power requirement by using their DG Sets during the peak hours to mitigate the power crisis being experienced in Port Blair and adjoining areas.
