Port Blair, April 4:  An Orientation-cum-Refresher Training Programme on e-Office for the Officers of Andaman & Nicobar Administration is being organized jointly by Department of Information Technology, A&N Administration and National Informatics Centre.

The orientation-cum-training programme was inaugurated by Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Secretary (IT), A & N Administration today in the conference hall of Dr. BR Ambedker Institute of Technology, Pahargaon. The Special Secretary (IT), Dr. Utpal Sharma, Shri Gautam Gupta, ASIO, NIC and Technical Team consisting 4 members from NIC New Delhi were also present during the programme.

Port Blair, April 4: The Congress Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker attended the finals of "U-19 Champions Trophy" organised at Haddo Children’s Park, Port Blair on Monday night as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Congress leader Mr. Eswar Rao on the occasion.

The tournament was aimed at positively engaging the youth and providing the budding sportsmen a platform to showcase their skills.

Port Blair, April 4: It is brought to the kind notice of general public that due to increase in ambient temperature, there has been a substantial increase in power demand which has created a shortage of power during evening peak hours from 05.30 PM to 10.30 PM in Port Blair and adjoining areas of South Andaman. All the consumers of Electricity Department have been advised to use the available energy judiciously in view of shortage of power particularly during the evening peak hours.

Port Blair, April 4: PBMC supplies drinking water to municipal areas. Due to poor monsoon and excessive heat there is acute shortage of water supply from PWD to PBMC. Rains are not expected any time soon. Water is a precious natural resource and cannot be wasted. The public have been advised to use water carefully and avoid any type of wastage of water. Overflow of storage tanks should be avoided at all costs. Consumers are to fix leaking pipes and install float valves in water tanks to avoid overflow. Govt. Offices, public institutions, commercial establishments and other major consumers of water have to take precautionary measures to preserve water.

Port Blair, April 4: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep will sail from Port Blair to Chennai on April 6, 2023 at 1000 hrs from Haddo Wharf. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on April 5, 2023. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0700 hrs to 0800 hrs on April 6. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.
