On the momentous occasion of Navy Day 2024, we proudly celebrate the valor, dedication, and excellence of the Indian Navy. This day commemorates the historic triumph of Operation Trident during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, a shining testament to the Navy's strategic brilliance and indomitable spirit.

Over the years, the Indian Navy has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to securing our maritime borders, maintaining vigilance in critical areas such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and vital sea lanes. With robust infrastructure and operational readiness, our naval forces have sustained a high tempo of operations, safeguarding India's maritime interests.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: As part of Navy Day celebrations, Ships/ vessels of Indian Navy will be illuminated from sunset to 2200hrs on 04 Dec 2024 at anchorage off the Marina flag post sea front. During sunset on 04 Dec 24, the ships would fire colourful flares and switch on the synchronised illumination lights. This will be followed by mesmerising Band Display at Flag Point.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: The eligible and in-eligible candidates against the Vacancy Notice No. No.4-14/Estt/DHS/2021/6014 dated 07.11.2024 for the post of Specialist on contractual basis for a period of 01 year in different Specialties under A&N Health Department has been published in the A&N Administration website www.andaman.gov.in & DHS website https://dhs.andaman.gov.in and notice board of the Directorate of Health Services. Further, an online interview is scheduled on 06.12.2024 from 10 AM onwards in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Health Services.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: Re-registration for January 2025 session at IGNOU has started. Students who have taken admission in January 2024 annual session and July 2024 semester session are eligible to apply for reregistration. Learners must register themselves on the following link https://ignou.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login and select the courses. The payment for re-registration is online. The last date for re-registration is 31st January 2025.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 2: Acting on his Election time commitment of getting a permanent solution to the power crisis prevailing in the Islands, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, submitted a detailed letter to the Hon’ble Prime Minister narrating the ground reality in the Islands. Shri Ray pointed in his letter that the Grid Connected Solar Power Project implemented in the Islands is not giving the desired output and this is one reason behind power crisis in Sri Vijaya Puram in particular. Taking no cue of the failures in Solar Power Projects, a proposal is again being moved to implement new grid linked Solar Power Project in the Islands, the MP stated in his letter to PM.
