Port Blair, Oct. 20: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to arrange a bigger ship viz MV Swaraj Dweep/MV Nancowry/MV Nicobar to sail from Port Blair to Nicobar Group of Islands and vice versa for transportation of stranded people including essential food and ration items to Car Nicobar, Teressa, Chowra, Katchal, Kamota, Campbell Bay etc. Since large number of tribal people of Nicobar Group of Islands are stuck up at Port Blair since past 03 (three) months, they are facing immense hardship to meet their daily requirements.

Port Blair, Oct. 20: The South Andaman District Police has solved a theft case and apprehended one juvenile delinquent by Special Juvenile Police Officer of Police Station Pahargaon with stolen cash of Rs. 1,65,000/- from the residence of the Juvenile in Conflict with Law.

Port Blair, Oct. 20: An information was received by Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station as per which 02 two persons one male & one female of West Bengal, Kolkata were to arrive at Port Blair from Kolkata by Indian Airlines flight on 18/10/2020. They were to carry a large quantity of ganja for delivering to one Rajesh Kumar Bepari at Dollygunj. The same was conveyed to Dy. SP (CID) and on his direction a team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS CCS, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Shibani Biswas, Constable K. Rajendran, Raja Rao, Mohd. Imran and Hari Krishna Yadav was formed which rushed to Dollygunj and waited for arrival of accused persons.
