Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 6: The Science Wing of Directorate of Education today organized Rajya Stariya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshini (RSBVP-2024-25) under the banner ‘Gyanodaya’ in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha & DESM- NCERT New Delhi in the Auditorium of Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Sri Vijaya Puram. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, as the chief guest inaugurated the two- day Exhibition by lighting the traditional oil lamp in the presence of the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (I/C), Shri A.S.P.S Raviprakash, IAS, Secretary (Edn.), Ms. Smitha R., IAS, Director (Edn.), Dr. Jatinder Sohal, Senior Officers of Education Department and students.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 6: The Flag Day is commemorated on Dec.7 every year in India. The day is observed to salute the gallant soldiers, honour the braves, express solidarity and support for welfare of ex-servicemen & their dependents. The Day is intended to honour the valiant and dead, to salute the veterans and brave and to enhance the traditional bonds that exist between citizens of the country and the Armed Forces. On this day, the services rendered by personnel of Army, Navy and Air Force are remembered. Rajya /Zilla Sainik Boards observe this day to enlist public cooperation and support for three basic purposes - Rehabilitation of families of battle casualties; Welfare of serving personnel and their families and Resettlement and welfare of ex-Servicemen and their families in general.

Mayabunder, Dec. 6: The Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Shri. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, inaugurated M/s Blue X Desiccated Industry yesterday at Ganesh Tikri, Lucknow village, Mayabunder, N&M Andaman in the presence of Assistant Commissioner, Shri. Ashish Joon and Shri Saw Thomas, Pradhan Gram Panchayat, Rampur. This is one of the units promoted under Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME).

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 6: INTACH Andaman and Nicobar Chapter celebrated the World Soil day at Govt. Middle School, Dignabad with 30 students.

Samhita Veda Acharya, Convenor gave a short lecture on the importance of soil and its conservation followed by an interactive session where the children were made to understand the importance of endemic species, as well as the natural heritage of the islands.  The geological sites of the islands were also discussed as well as students came up with names of birds, animals that they observe around.
