Sri Vijaya Puram, March 17: CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) - National Coordinating Institute, IIT Delhi, Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), and Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (PI, UBA) jointly organized a three-day event from March 11-13, 2025 at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram. The meeting follows an earlier event held in January 2024 and aims to further explore the potential application of CSIR technologies to foster sustainable development in the region. The event was graced by a distinguished panel of experts.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 17: The Ministry of MSME, Government of India, in association with the Department of Industries, A&N Administration, organized a Competitiveness Composite Workshop under the World Bank supported Central Sector Scheme ‘Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance’ (RAMP Programme). The RAMP Programmes aims to address the challenges faced by MSMEs by way of series of interventions, including new sub schemes launched under the Programme.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 17: In compliance with the directive of the Chief Secretary for quarterly mock drills in all Departments, the Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration conducted a Mock Drill on Earthquake and Fire in the Directorate of Rural Development and Panchayat, Sri Vijaya Puram on March 17, 2025. The drill was conducted in collaboration with the District Administration, A&N Police, Health, Fire, NDRF, and Electricity Departments to assess the Department’s emergency response to disaster scenarios.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 17: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Shri. Rangalal Halder has formally addressed a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, highlighting the critical issue of continuous load shedding affecting Swaraj Dweep Island.
During a recent visit to Swaraj Dweep, Shri. Halder personally observed the severe electricity shortages plaguing the island with prolonged power outages ranging from 8 to 10 hours daily, causing immense hardship and disrupting their everyday lives and economic activities.
