The objective behind the cleanliness campaign was to bring consciousness among the children about the importance of cleanliness and responsibility towards the environment so that every child should come forward for extending their helping hands in maintaining the surroundings by keeping them neat and clean.

Port Blair, July 15: A five-day chess training camp for advanced players is being organised by the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) at Port Blair from July 17 to 21.

Car Nicobar, July 14: Under a 100-day action plan, a 5-day skill development training program on ‘Harvesting Diversity: Coconut-based Intercropping with Spices and Tuber Crops’ began on July 10, 2024, at the Community Hall, Tapoiming Village. Smt. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar, inaugurated the program and praised the efforts of farmers such as Shri Patrick, Shri Suman, Shri Manish, and Shri Jaan Mohammed for their contributions to advancing intensive agricultural farming in Nicobar. Deputy Commissioner spoke about the potential of agricultural diversification and sustainable practices. She highlighted the profitability of intercropping spices and tubers in coconut farms. Shri Simon William, Second Captain of Tapoiming Village was the guest of honour. Dr. Santosh Kumar, Head of KVK Nicobar, welcomed the participants and emphasized the program's significance.
