Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 15: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) celebrated its 150th Foundation Day with grand events held at its Headquarters and Regional Centres across the country. The inaugural ceremony at the Headquarters in New Delhi, held on 14th January, 2025, marked a significant milestone in the journey of IMD. The event was graced by the presence of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, as the chief guest, along with other distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of Earth Sciences, and Prof. Celeste Saulo, Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization. This momentous occasion reflected the IMD's long-standing commitment to advancing meteorological science and serving the nation.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 15: The National General Secretary Shri. Ravindre Himte and Shri. Ganesh Mishra, National Sah Sangathan Mantri was on a visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands since 11th Jan. 2025 for the conduct of Triennial Conference of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh.
On 14th Jan. 2025 a meeting was held with Shri. Ravindre Himte and Shri. Ganesh Mishra in the office of Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM), Dollygunj in presence of State General Secretary, BMS Shri. Sunil Ghosh and Shri. Jaydeep Kumar Dey, President, ANRKM and other office bearers.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 15: The UT Tax Department has issued Notice of Default Assessment of Tax, Interest and Penalty to the Dealers registered under the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Value Added Tax Regulation, 2017, on account of violation of provisions of the Regulation, Rules and other directives issued thereunder.
The assessment of Value Added Tax for the period 2017-2018 to 2020-2021 were initiated and so far, assessment of 138 such Dealers have been completed.

Kamorta, Jan. 15: As a commitment towards development and upliftment of the people of the villages under Nancowry Block and with the aim to provide suitable assets for holistic community well-being, a new work for ‘Development of School Playground’ has commenced at Kakana Village under Nancowry Block in the Nicobar District on 15th January, 2025 under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, a flagship programme of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 15: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Khadi and Village Industries Board (A&NI KVIB), in collaboration with the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, A&N Administration is set to launch a one-month Skill Development Training Programme in Poultry and Dairy Farming. The training will commence on 20th January, 2025 and will be held at Veterinary Hospitals in Dollygunj, Port Mout, Hutbay and Diglipur. Candidates who have already submitted their applications to the A&NI KVIB and Department of Industries have been requested to report to their nearest Training Centre on 20th January, 2025 at 9.30 am.
