Port Blair, Feb 19: The organic virgin coconut oil produced by the Nicobari tribal community is now available for sale in Port Blair. The oil is being produced by the Nicobari community under a project called The Nicobars, which is meant to benefit the community while exploring ways and means to spread the benefits of the tribal knowledge to the world.  

Port Blair, Feb 19: Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojna (DDU-GKY) is a centrally sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development that aims to skill the underserved, rural youth in order to provide them with a regular source of income. DDU-GKY is a skilling and placement initiative with the objective to “transform rural poor youth into an economically independent and globally relevant workforce”.

Port Blair, Feb 18: A surprise visit was conducted today on 18th February, 2021 by the Revenue team led by Assistant Commissioner (SA), Tehsildar, Port Blair and other field staff at Taylorabad and Bimblitan village in which a truck carrying earth without Transit Pass at Bimblitan village was seized. The truck was seized and kept under official custody as per the legal procedure.

FS Commissioner Calls Upon FBOs to Obtain Licence/ Registration Without Delay

Port Blair, Feb 18: As a part of Eat Right India initiative of FSSAI, the Food Safety Department, A & N Administration today organized a License/Registration Mela at the office premises of the department. Food Business Operators from Aberdeen Bazaar, Haddo, Junglighat, Dairy Farm, Shadipur & surrounding areas participated in the programme. During this Mela the procedure for obtaining New Licenses/ Registration certificates from FSSAI was briefed to the New Food Business Operators. Procedure for uploading online applications, documents which are required to be uploaded along with License/ Registration application form, remittance of License fee through online were also explained in detail to the visitors. Further procedure for conversion and modification of existing registration certificates into licenses were also elaborated in detail.

Port Blair, Feb 18: The Women’s Wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) is conducting a countrywide 10-day campaign ‘Strong Family Strong Society’ for restoring the core values of the family and the society, from 19 to 28, Feb 2021.

The Campaign intends to create awareness about the need to strengthen family structure. Family, the basic building block of society as well as the foundation of civilization, is now moving towards tremendous threat of becoming weakened and disintegrated because of the rapid and rising incidents of the family conflict, domestic violence, woman abuse and divorce. Hence, there is a need to strengthen the core of the society by fixing its basic unit, the family.
