Port Blair, Oct. 18: Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) regime under Plastic Waste Management Rules, refers to responsibility of Producers, Importers and Brand-owners including producers and manufacturers of compostable plastics to ensure processing of their plastic packaging waste through recycling, re-use or end of life disposal (such as co-processing/ Waste-to-energy/ Plastic to oil/ road making/ industrial-composting).

Port Blair, Oct. 18: The weather forecast bulletin received from Meteorological Department it indicates Low pressure formation in next 48 Hours over SE/East Central Bay of Bengal and subsequently depression formation by 22nd October.

Port Blair, Oct. 18: Heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Oct. 19, 20 & 21.  Due to likely formation of low pressure area during next 48 hours and likely intensification of the system. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till Oct. 23, 2022.

Port Blair, Oct. 18: The passengers/general public are being informed that due to adverse weather conditions the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Dering for Diglipur via Mayabunder on 19.10.2022 at 1900 hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage from Diglipur to Port Blair via Mayabunder on 20.10.2022 at 1230 hrs has been cancelled.
