Port Blair, April 25: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) organized an Orientation and Capacity Building programme for the youth of “Red Ribbon Club” (RRC) of Govt. Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Dollygunj, Port Blair on Prevention and Control of HIV & AIDS today. More than 150 youth were present for the orientation programme.    

The programme was organized under the leadership of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society.

Shoal Bay, April 25: A free health camp in association with Rotary Club of Port Blair was conducted at Panchayat Bhawan Shoal Bay on 21st April 2024. A team of consisting of Dr. Dinesh, Dental Surgeon, Dr. Snehesh, Dental Specialist, Dr. Dhanalakshmi Gynaecologist, Dr. J Saranya, General Physician conducted the camp in which 58 patients were screened and free medicines were given.

Port Blair, April 24: As part of ‘Prakriti Shantiniketan-the nature classroom programme’, an awareness camp was organized yesterday by the Wildlife Division Port Blair, Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in which, 30 School students and Teachers from Govt. Secondary School, Delanipur participated. Set amidst the serene backdrop of Nature Park and Interpretation Centre, Haddo, this immersive camp offered participants a unique opportunity to engage in educational workshop and guided nature walk led by experienced staff. The nature awareness camp was aimed at educating, inspiring and empowering students to foster a sense of community and shared responsibility by means of field visit, classroom session, drawing competition and quiz competition.

Port Blair, April 25: All the left out migrant labourers residing in this UT and who have registered themselves on the e-Shram portal of the Labour Department have been informed that the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, A & N Administration will be organizing the second phase of Special Camps in the areas mentioned below to identify and issue Ration Cards to those labrours left out who do not possess Ration Card either in their native State/UTs or in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, April 24: CPI (M) has expressed concern over the non-availability of medicines in the Aush Hospital at Port Blair. In a letter sent to the Director of Health Services, A & N Islands, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee said that there is acute shortage of medicines in the Ayush Hospital at Port Blair. He said that almost all the medicines prescribed by the doctors are unavailable in the Ayush hospital. He said that patients are forced to purchase the Ayush medicines from private medical stores.
