Port Blair, Dec. 5: In view of the weather advisory issued by IMD about the formation of low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea and is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal near north Tamil Nadu coasts on Dec. 8, the Directorate of Shipping Services, keeping in view the safety of the passengers and the vessel has postponed the scheduled sailing programme of MV Swaraj Dweep for Chennai scheduled on Dec.6, 2022 from Port Blair. Now, the vessel will sail for Chennai on Dec.8, 2022 at 1000 hrs from Haddo Wharf.

Port Blair, Dec. 5: Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Brookshabad observed ‘International Day for Persons with Disabilities’ on Dec. 2 with the theme ‘Transformative Solutions for Inclusive Development: the role of innovation fuelling an accessible and equitable world’. The programme was chaired by the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma. The Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Smti Pramila Kumari was the special guest.

In anticipation of formation of low pressure area, fishermen of Andaman and Nicobar coasts have been advised not to venture into the sea till Dec. 7, 2022.

Chowra, Dec 4: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has handed over a Dead Body Freezer Box to the Tribal Council of Chowra Island. The box has been purchased through MPLADS fund.
