Port Blair, April 5: In compliance with the directions issued by the Chief Electoral Officer A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency during the meeting held on 1st April, 2024 and communicated in the minutes of the meeting vide F.No.PA/ERO/MTNGS/GE/2024/003 dated 2nd April 2024, the following health advisory has been issued for officials on election duty.

-Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated (03 Litres per day)

Port Blair, April 5: The general public and consumers have been informed that on Apr. 6, there will be power outages in Haddo, Haddo Wharf, Foreshore Road and upto Civil Aviation Delanipur between 0800 hrs and 1330 hrs in connection with urgent maintenance of the 11 KV high tension line of the Haddo feeder.

Billiground, April 4: North & Middle Andaman District Police conducted third session of "Mahila Manch," an initiative dedicated to addressing the issues faced by women residing in the remote villages of the district. This time, Mahila Manch reached out to the women of Dharmapur village, in Billiground engaging in meaningful dialogue and offering support.

Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP (D)N&MA, led the session, interacting with the women of Dharmapur village with patience and empathy. She attentively listened to their concerns, assuring them of all possible assistance. During the session, the SP shed light on crucial topics such as silence on domestic violence, upbringing of teenage children.

General Public Urged to Cooperate

Port Blair, April 4: In view of the ensuing General Election for the lone Parliamentary seat of A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency, the Returning Officer, ANIPC has issued directions to the Police Department and the Field Surveillance teams to intensify frisking/screening of vehicles both public and private, so that nobody uses any unfair practice to woo the electors and to ensure that free, fair and transparent elections are conducted in the A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency.

Campbell Bay, April 4: As part of preparations for the General Elections-2024, Ms. Jyothi Kumari, IAS, DC Nicobar, Shri Sunny Gupta, IPS, SP Nicobar, Shri Abhishek Gulia, AC Campbell Bay and Shri Firoj Alam, SDPO Campbell Bay along with Sector Officers and other officials conducted two-day official visit to Campbell Bay Tehsil. The purpose of the visit was to assess the Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) available in the isolated and critical polling stations and engage with the residents of the far-flung Polling Booths in the region.
