Port Blair, Aug 30: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited (ANIIDCO) has recorded its highest ever turnover of Rs. 465.54 crores and highest level of Net Profit of Rs. 34.86 crores during the Financial Year 2022-2023. The Board of Directors of ANIIDCO Ltd. in its 163rd Board Meeting held today, has recommended for the declaration of dividend @ 30% of net profit after tax amounting to a record amount of Rs. 10.46 crores for the Financial Year 2022-2023 against the previous year’s figure of Rs. 7.15 crores.

Port Blair, Aug 30: Inspector Anila Sanjay of A&N Police has been promoted as the Deputy Superintendent of Police recently making her the first ever lady officer from A&N Islands to be promoted to the rank. Smti Anila Sanjay has also to her credit of being appointed as the first Lady Sub Inspector in the A&N Police.

Prothrapur, Aug 30: On the auspicious occasion of National Sport’s Day, a spirited one-day Football Knockout Tournament was hosted by WITH YOU in collaboration with the A&N Football Association and the Youths of Bird Line. The event took place at the Bird Line Ground in Prothrapur on 29th August 2023.

The tournament witnessed an exhilarating showcase of sportsmanship, as 22 enthusiastic teams participated in the football competition. Shri Sanjay Meshack, Secretary of the A&N Football Association extended a warm welcome and narrated the achievement and works of WITH YOU (NGO) to the esteemed Chief Guest and other dignitaries present. He highlighted the remarkable teamwork and dedication displayed by the participating teams.

The event was graced by the presence of renowned Martial Art Masters, Shri. Selvam, Shri. Murugan and Shri. Anand Amritraj, who, through their dedicated efforts, have nurtured numerous sportspersons bringing national and international glory to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Additionally, the gathering had the privilege of hosting the exceptionally talented young chess prodigy, Miss Kasthuri Bai, an International Chess Player.

Enthusiasm Among the Youth for Sports Lauded

Diglipur, Aug 30: The heavy rain overnight in the North Andaman region did pose challenges to the organizers at Diglipur, in the morning to conduct sports’ activities to join the Nation in the celebration of National Sports Day.  But the rains could not lower their enthusiasm.

The Subhash Gram Panchayat’s organizing team under the leadership of Pradhan Shri P.R. Singaram had ensured all the preparations were ready and the sportsmen too were eagerly waiting for the downpour to stop for a while at least. The sports lovers in and around Diglipur area came out of their homes in the morning around 5.30 AM when the rain stopped and the marathon got started by the chief guest, the Deputy Education Officer, Shri S. Suresh Kumar.
