Sri Vijaya Puram, April 11: The Department of Art and Culture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration in collaboration with National Book Trust conducted ‘Literature Festival’ from March, 27 to 29, 2025 at TGCE Auditorium and ‘Book Fair’ from April, 1 to 10, 2025 at ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram. Students from various stages of the schools under South Andaman and Wimberlygunj Education Zone competed in different competitions in the ‘Literature Festival’. The winners of these competitions were felicitated in the closing ceremony on 10.04.2025.

Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency along with Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration reviewed the presentation at Raj Niwas after final report by appointed Consultants regarding the development of Golf Tourism and Hospitality, Hotel Complexes at Rangachang and Rangachang Extension sites at A&N Islands. Senior Officials of Andaman& Nicobar Administration, Andaman & Nicobar Forests and ANIIDCO were also present.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 11: In a joint effort to promote fitness and tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC), in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration (ANA), is set to host the ANC-ANA Half Marathon on Sunday, 13 April 2025 at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram.

This event forms part of their shared commitment to the Fit India Movement and the promotion of sports tourism across the islands.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 11: As per the directive of Hon’ble Mahila Congress National President Smt. Alka Lamba, a protest was organized on 11th April 2025 under the dynamic leadership of Mahila Congress State President, A&N Islands, Smt. Zubaida Begum against the unjust hike in LPG gas cylinder prices by the BJP-led Central Government.

The protest witnessed the active participation of several Mahila Congress leaders and members, who raised strong slogans and expressed their deep concern over the recent Rs. 50 hike in LPG cylinder prices. The sudden hike has added immense burden to the already struggling households, especially women who manage kitchens and bear the brunt of rising inflation.
