Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 27: A training program on ‘Strategic Development and Emerging Initiatives for Self-Sufficiency Villages’ was organized by C.D. Block Diglipur at Subhashgram Conference Hall on Oct. 24, 2024.The training was aimed at empowering local leaders to transform villages into self-sufficient communities through innovative approaches and effective strategies.

Mayabunder, Oct. 27: As part of the celebration of National Ayurveda Day 2024, the Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College in association with Dr. R. P. Hospital, Mayabunder conducted an Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants Exhibition-cum-Competition among the students in the college premises yesterday. It showcased an impressive array of medicinal plants and the traditional use of medicinal plants available in A&N Islands. Altogether, 70 students from the college participated Department wise and individually along with all kinds of medicinal plants available locally.

Polytechnic, Diglipur today.  Shri Biplob Mondal, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Sitanagar inaugurated the programme as the chief guest. Dr. Shipra Mistry, Medical Officer (AYUSH), CHC, Diglipur, Smt. Minachi, Incharge, Govt. Polytechnic, Sitanagar and Smt. Kannagi, S.I. Police Station, Diglipur elaborated on the topics vi. Health Alternatives, Life Skill Development and Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse respectively.

Sri, Vijaya Puram, Oct. 27: The Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, successfully organized a Disability Screening Camp-cum-Awareness Programme on welfare schemes for persons with disabilities in the Conference Hall of the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Campbell Bay on Oct.24, 2024.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 25: Hon'ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Govt. of India, Shri Manohar Lal, arrived on a day’s visit to A&N Islands today. The Hon'ble Union Minister visited NLC India Limited 20 MW Solar PV Plant with 8 MWHr/16 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Plant Site at Dollygunj. Hon'ble Union Minister enquired about the power generation capacity & distribution of Solar Plant with the NLC officials present at the Plant Site. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Secretary (Labour & Employment), Dr. Anil Agarwal, Director (Power), Dr. Prashant Kumar, Senior Officers of A&N Administration, NLC India Limited and Electricity Department were present during the visit.
