Port Blair, July1: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has once again let down the aspirations of the remote islanders of A&N Islands after it decided to delay the launch of the Submarine Optical Fibre Cable project (CANI) on 1st of July 2020. There has been much hue and cry over operationalizing the CANI Project, especially in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced the students to opt for online classes.

Port Blair, July 1: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary (Health), A&N Administration to restart Blood testing and X-Ray facilities at PHC Tushnabad as the same was stopped since March, 2020 in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

Port Blair, July 1: Due to breakdown of Harbour ferry vessel MV Hawabill stationed at Long Island, her services has been withdrawn. Due to above withdrawal, the harbour ferry service between Long Island and Kadamtala route has been suspended for the interim, till a substitute vessel is re-stationed.

Port Blair, July 1: The Bharatiya Janta Party led by Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, BJP Andaman & Nicobar Islands organized a medical camp on 27-06-2020 to provide personal protection kits and also to make the public aware of precautionary measures of COVID-19. The camp was arranged by Mrs. Anita Puria, State Incharge, Traders Cell, BJP, A & N Islands.
