Port Blair, Sept. 21: Tata Community Initiatives Trust (TCIT) - COVID Response / Vistara Wellness Initiative 2.0 in association with Navodhaya Foundation Organized Ration kits distribution event for 70 beneficiaries of Port Blair area. The event was organized at Khaitan Kalayan Mandapam, Junglighat, Port Blair today.

The kits were provided by Tata Sons & Tata Sia Airlines which is part of an overall project of providing Ration kits to 100 COVID affected families within Port Blair Area. The programme was also attended by the managing team of TATA & TATA-sia Airlines through Virtual medium. The project will continue its phase on 22/09/2021 by reaching out to needy at Bambooflat area, where 30 More Ration Kits will be distributed.

The central government is running an awareness campaign across the country in the month of September under the "Poshan Abhiyan", a "maha campaign" to prevent the ill effects of malnutrition in the country.

Port Blair, Sept. 21: As per data available, a total of 4,25,681 doses of vaccines have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,68,481 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.

Port Blair, Sept. 21: The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell of JNRM in collaboration with State Health Agency, Andaman & Nicobar Administration organised an awareness programme on Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. H.K. Sharma, Principal, JNRM highlighted that Ayushman Bharat being a flagship programme of Government of India strives to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Port Blair, Sept. 20: The A&N Islands has been adjudged with 2nd position in the State Food Safety Index Rank among the Union Territories in the 3rd All India State Food Safety Index 2020-21 unveiled by the Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya at FSSAI, New Delhi. The prestigious award was received from the Hon’ble Minister by the A&N Administration.
