Port Blair, Aug 11: Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A & N Islands officially launched the Central Equipment Identity Register(CEIR) Service for lost/stolen mobile blocking/unblocking request through Citizen Portal of A&N Police, on 11.09.2023 at Police Headquarters, Port Blair in the presence of Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Secretary (IT), Shri. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS, DIGP (Intl/CID), Smt. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, DIGP (L&O) and other officers and staff. With the launch of this portal, citizens can now register their Lost/Stolen mobile phone complaints directly into CCTNS Citizen Service Portal at http://citizen.andaman.gov.in/Login.aspx. This information will further go into the CCTNS Core Application. Missing mobile registration requires some specific mandatory information like mobile number and IMEI details. The data will be replicated from State Data Centre to the National Data Centre and will be shared with C-DOT for blocking. Port Blair, Aug 11: On the occasion of International Youth Day, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has highlighted a pressing concern that demands immediate attention for the betterment of the youths of the Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma emphasized the vital role that youths play in shaping a vibrant society and urged the authorities to create an environment that nurtures their growth, development, and involvement in constructive activities.

Port Blair, Aug 11: The ANIIMS's Interventional Cardiology Unit performed a case of Conduction system pacing (Lt bundle pacing) and Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT-D) implantation successfully in a single day for the first time in the history of A&N Islands on July 17, 2023. Conduction system pacing is a mode of physiological pacing, carried out for the first time in the world in 2018 in China. Since then, only a small number of centers in the nation have been capable of performing such sophisticated pacing techniques.

Port Blair, Aug 11: The ‘AICF Chess For Everyone’ All-India FIDE Rated Chess Tournament 2023 began today morning at Hotel TSG Grand, Dollygunj, Port Blair. The tournament is being organised by the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) under the aegis of All India Chess Federation (AICF), powered by TCI.

This is the first time, ANCA is hosting an All-India level FIDE rating Chess Tournament. More than 160 Chess players from 15 different states of India including players from Defence Accounts Sports Control Board (DASCB), Railways and one Women FIDE Master are participating in these five days event which will be held over 9 rounds in Classical format from 11th to 15th August 2023.

Krishnaprasad, Finance Secretary, All India Kisan Sabha will be reaching Port Blair on 12th August, 2023 for a 4-day visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands.  She is also the General Secretary of the All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers & Helpers.
